Ancient Chinese reformer and thinker Guan Zhong (管仲) once said;
“十年樹木百年樹人”
“If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people”.
We have been growing produce on our rooftop garden in central Taipei for several years as part of our ongoing mission to bring awareness to urban farming, support the adoption of green initiatives and encourage sustainable development both in our community and beyond. We’ve been featured in articles that highlight these efforts and have even had the honor of hosting Taipei City mayoral candidate Dr. Ko Wen-je as we hope to encourage the creation of green roofs and gardens across the many high-rises and office towers that make up Taipei.
With that in mind we have recently harvested a rice crop. Here are some photos.

Taiwan produces two rice crops per year, due to the warm and wet climate

As part of our mission to contribute to the wider community, the general public is welcome to visit our roof garden to learn about urban farming and our green office program. To arrange a visit, please contact City Shen at +886 (0)2 2311-2345 ext. 346 or email him at cshen@winklerpartners.com. You can also read about our other community projects here.
