Winkler Partners has long been concerned about climate change and global warming and has voluntarily committed and strived to reduce carbon emissions. We obtained verification of our carbon neutrality under the PAS 2060:2014 framework in 2021. This September (2022), we received validation of our emissions reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Our reduction target aligns with the Business Ambition for 1.5°C, a global campaign rallying businesses to reduce emissions and limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C by 2050.
Since our inception, Winkler Partners has actively measured and reduced our energy use. By the end of last year, our annual electricity consumption was down by 58% compared to the year of our founding, and our water consumption by 63%. We continue looking for ways to do even better. Most recently, we’ve begun urging colleagues to use an electric car service to reduce our carbon emissions from business travel.
