Virginia Yuan

Virginia Yuan brings over 15 years of experience in managing and protecting national, regional, and global trademark portfolios. A key strategist for complex IP matters, she integrates rigorous legal analysis with practical commercial considerations for multinational clients across a wide variety of sectors, including technology, entertainment, fashion, and consumer goods.

Functioning as a direct extension of her clients’ in-house teams, Virginia integrates branding and marketing strategy with legal protection to ensure clear alignment with business objectives. Her expertise covers the full spectrum of trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement. In her role as coordinating counsel, she manages a high-performing global network of local counsels to ensure consistent quality across all jurisdictions. In the Taiwan market, she is particularly adept at navigating complex disputes before the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO). Virginia achieves consistently strong results in opposition, invalidation, and cancellation proceedings and is recognized for innovative, “outside the box” thinking and ability to anticipate challenges for her clients.

Admitted to practice in New York State, Virginia holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Houston Law Center and an LL.B. from Soochow University in Taiwan. She is an active participant in the International Trademark Association (INTA) and serves her clients fluently in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

Beyond her professional practice, Virginia finds balance in reading and dancing.
