Karen Liu

Karen Liu is a trademark agent and patent attorney with over 15 years of experience specializing in intellectual property protection and dispute resolution. She advises major domestic and international clients on safeguarding their trademark and patent rights across multiple jurisdictions, including Taiwan, China, the United States, the European Union, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.

Karen represents brand owners in a wide range of trademark matters, including availability and registrability searches, prosecution of domestic and international applications, opposition and cancellation proceedings, and global portfolio management. Notably, she supports one of the world’s leading bicycle manufacturers in managing its trademarks in over 50 jurisdictions.

Before joining Winkler Partners in 2020, Karen practiced at one of Taiwan’s largest law firms, where she focused on contentious and non-contentious IP matters.

Karen is registered in Taiwan as a Patent Attorney and Trademark Agent, having undertaken professional certification programs and training in Trademark Application and Management, Patent Engineering, and Patent Search and Analysis through the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office and the Taiwan Intellectual Property Training Academy.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Life Science from National Taiwan Normal University and completed legal studies at National Chiao Tung University’s School of Law. Karen is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
