Daniel Hsu

Daniel joined Winkler Partners in 2024, specializing in labor and employment law, data protection, copyright, commercial contracts, and dispute resolution. He is qualified as an attorney-at-law in Taiwan and as a solicitor of England and Wales.

Admitted to practice in 2019, Daniel worked at another leading Taiwanese law firm before joining us. He has extensive experience advising domestic and international clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters. His employment law practice covers the review of employment contracts, termination and severance, non-compete restrictions, and mass redundancy procedures. In data protection, he has advised multinational companies on the development and review of privacy policies, review of end-user license agreements, data breach notification, incident response, and privacy training, with clients spanning the technology, media and entertainment, financial services, and pharmaceutical sectors.

Daniel is also active in the field of art law, serving as a director of the Taiwan Art Law Society and as a committee member of the Art Authentication Standards Committee of the Taiwan Art Gallery Association. He has advised leading museums on the review of curatorial agreements, production agreements, and sponsorship agreements, and has assisted private collectors with matters relating to art authentication and transactions.

Daniel graduated from the College of Law at National Chengchi University, the College of Law at the University of Göttingen, Germany, and the Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London. He is a member of the Taipei Bar Association, the Geneva Art Law Foundation, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). Daniel is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E). He is fluent in Mandarin and English and speaks basic German.
