Chi-Hsien Nieh

Chi-hsien Nieh joined Winkler Partners in November 2020 as a member of the firm’s corporate and IP teams. His practice focuses on IP and technology transactions for clients in industries such as media, entertainment, and digital commerce.

Chi-hsien’s representative experience includes negotiating and drafting a brand license agreement for a leading retail conglomerate’s acquisition of a major e-commerce platform, and structuring a multilateral framework for a global cloud services provider’s payment operations in Taiwan. Chi-hsien also manages the Asia-Pacific trademark portfolio for a global technology leader. At the intersection of media and innovation, he has advised one of Asia’s pioneering music technology companies on its Web3-based licensing service and assisted a Golden Horse Award-winning film production company with liability insurance and production-related legal needs.

Prior to joining the firm, Chi-hsien held legal internship positions at the New York City headquarters of a global record label and at the Taipei office of a major international law firm. Additionally, he served as a pro bono intern at a university-led Intellectual Property and Information Law Clinic, where he received a public service award in recognition of his contributions.

Chi-hsien holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from New York University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he served as the Senior Notes and Articles Editor for the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media and Entertainment Law Journal. He is admitted to practice in New York and currently serves on the Right of Publicity Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA). He is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and speaks conversational Spanish.
