Betty Chen
Betty has been with Winkler Partners since the firm’s founding in 2002, and worked with our predecessor firm, Qi Lin International Law Offices, for seven years, giving her over 20 years of experience in intellectual property protection. She brings a wealth of expertise in trademark, patent and copyright law, specializing in domestic and foreign trademark and patent prosecution, global clearance, as well as domain name issues, customs recordals, and related dispute and enforcement proceedings. Her practice covers a broad range of industries, advising for internationally renowned brands in the confectionery, automotive, high technology, and household appliance industries, among others.
Betty manages the trademark portfolio for one of the world’s most famous French design houses and a number of other well-known international brands. She has assisted with customs recordals and seizures for one of the world’s largest flash memory card makers, and advised a major pet food company in settling domain name disputes in Taiwan and China.
She received her B.A. in Business Management from Chinese Culture University in 1998, and her LL.B. from the National Taipei University in 2009. Betty received a Masters of Law from Soochow University in Taipei in 2015. She speaks Mandarin Chinese and English.
Betty has authored the Taiwan Patent License section of International Licensing, published by the Center For International Legal Studies, for 2008 through 2010.
