Yi-Kai Chen

Yi-Kai joined Winkler Partners in 2020, supporting domestic and international clients with enforcement and dispute resolution matters, often those involving intellectual property.

Yi-Kai has assisted a wide range of world’s leading brands in navigating complex legal issues and enforcing their IP rights in Taiwan. His accomplishments include winning numerous challenging cases for clients at both the Intellectual Property Court and the Supreme Administrative Court.

Yi-Kai has represented multiple leading entertainment and media companies in a landmark dispute, where he successfully assisted law enforcement in obtaining one of Taiwan’s first seizure warrants against website domains hosting pirated content. He also successfully obtained recognition of well-known trademarks in Taiwan for a major global publisher, leading to the removal of several over 30-year-old trademarks for free-riding. He also advises clients on general legal matters in connection with telecommunication, entertainment, and information technology businesses in Taiwan.

Yi-Kai graduated from National Taiwan University’s Department of Law and Graduate School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Taiwan and speaks Mandarin Chinese and English.
